Log Files
We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site,
track which pages our Web site visitors view and gather broad
demographic information for collective use. IP addresses are
not linked to information that can personally identify you.
Security
This Web site takes every precaution to protect our members'
information. When a member submits sensitive information to
Hermantown, their information is protected both online and
off-line.
When our forms ask members to enter sensitive information
(such as credit card number or social security number), that
information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption
software in the industry – SSL (Secure Sockets Layer).
While on a secure page, such as our loan application form,
the lock icon (typically a picture of a key or padlock) on
the bottom of Web browsers (such as Netscape Navigator and
Microsoft Internet Explorer) becomes locked. When you are
‘surfing' on a page that isn't secure, the lock icon
is unlocked, open or not visible.
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information
online, we also do everything in our power to protect member
information offline. All of our members' information, not
just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted
in our offices. We have procedures that limit employee access
to personally identifiable information to those employees
with a business reason to know such information about you.
We educate our employees about the importance of confidentiality
and member privacy through standard operating procedures,
special training programs and our policies on ethics. We take
appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce employee privacy
responsibilities.
The servers that we use to store personally identifiable
information on are protected by industry standard technologies.

Hermantown FCU is continually improving and adding new functionality
and features to this Web site and improving and adding to
its existing products, services and programs. Because of these
ongoing changes, Hermantown FCU's data practices will change
from time to time. If we change our privacy policy, we will
post those changes on our Web site so our members are always
aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under
what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
